Delta Humane Society & SPCA depends upon our dedicated volunteers to help us care for our homeless animals.
- Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer on your own.
- Teens can volunteer if a legal guardian is present.
- Volunteers must be able to read and comprehend directions given.
This is our central hub of all operations and serves as the backbone. This involves a wide variety of duties and responsibilities. This will give you unique opportunities to gain experience in the given field.
Our furbabies love the opportunity to be petted, groomed, and shown affection Socializing with them helps make them more adoptable and better pets. Stimulation and regular human interaction are important ways to help do this.
Help us to give every shelter dog the chance to get out in the fresh air and get exercise. By taking them out for a walk around.
DHS & SPCA participates in and manages a significant number of events throughout San Joaquin County, California, most of them showcasing our adoptable animals. Participation in events can include anything from working at our larger events, festivals, and partnership stores.

Volunteer applications are reviewed on an individual basis and selection and placement of volunteers are based on the current needs of the DHS & SPCA. Upon selection, the Basic Volunteer Training Classes will be required.
